Poipole is a 60-HP Basic darkness attacker whose 2-Step attack deals 20 base damage plus 20 per coin heads, creating variance-based burst potential on a single energy. The deck backs Poipole with the Ultra Beast suite — Naganadel, Nihilego, Guzzlord, and Celesteela — to apply multi-angle pressure and overwhelm opponents through sheer variety.
Open with Poipole through Poke Ball to anchor your early turns and bait opponent resources. Naganadel is an independent 100-HP Basic darkness attacker whose Electro House poisons the opponent's Active, while Nihilego amplifies poison damage by 10 with its More Poison ability. Nihilego, Guzzlord, and Celesteela occupy bench slots with independent attack lines. Attach Poison Barb to your own Active Pokemon so that when it is hit by an attack, the attacking Pokemon becomes poisoned, compounding chip damage each turn. Pokemon Center Lady heals 30 damage and cures all Special Conditions. Will guarantees the first coin flip of your next attack is heads, smoothing 2-Step variance. Training Area boosts Stage 1 Pokemon attacks by 10 damage. Lusamine can be used once the opponent has scored at least 1 point, attaching 2 random energy from your discard to an Ultra Beast.

2-Step best case on two coin flips with one darkness energy
Rotate between Naganadel, Nihilego, Guzzlord, and Celesteela across your bench slots (up to 3 benched at a time). When one attacker is threatened, pivot to a fresh Ultra Beast via Celesteela's Ultra Thrusters ability. The opponent must spend resources answering different threats each turn, slowing their own point-scoring pace.
Attach Poison Barb to your own Active Pokemon so any opponent that attacks it becomes poisoned. Nihilego's More Poison ability adds 10 damage to all poison ticks. This extra chip damage means fewer coin-flip hits are needed to score a knockout. Combined with 2-Step's best-case 60 damage, the combined output threatens 80-100 HP targets within two turns.
Poipole has only 60 HP. Any attacker that deals 60 or more damage on turn 2 eliminates the primary attacker immediately for 1 point and forces the opponent to pivot to a bench Ultra Beast that may not be fully powered. Early aggression denies the Poison Barb damage setup.
Poison Barb is the passive damage engine that poisons any opponent that attacks your Active. Decks with Tool removal can discard the Barb before it generates meaningful passive damage, forcing the Poipole player to rely solely on coin-flip attack output, which averages only 40 damage per turn.
Poipole's average 2-Step damage is around 40 per turn across expected coin outcomes. Consistent attackers that deal a guaranteed 80-100 each turn trade far more efficiently, scoring points faster than the Poipole player can recover from bad flips.
