Crobat ex wins by combining its Venomous Slash attack with Poison Barb to stack poison damage on every opponent's turn, racing to 3 points through attrition. The one-energy cost makes it one of the fastest Stage 2 attackers in the format.
Open with Zubat and use Poké Ball to secure it, then draw toward Rare Candy with Professor's Research and Copycat to skip Golbat and land Crobat ex as early as possible. Attach Poison Barb in the mid-game to deal bonus poison between turns on top of Venomous Slash's mandatory poison. Nihilego supplements the bench with additional pressure or disruption, while Cyrus and Sabrina pull safer knockout targets into the active slot to accelerate points.

Attach Poison Barb to your active attacker before swinging with Venomous Slash. Both sources apply poison simultaneously, accelerating knockout timing. Cyrus can then pull a damaged target into the active position so you can finish it before it retreats. This two-layer poison plan is the deck's primary damage engine.
Zubat is your only Basic attacker, so dig aggressively with Professor's Research and Copycat to find Rare Candy. Bypassing Golbat gets Crobat ex into the active spot faster and lets you threaten Venomous Slash before the opponent establishes their own attacker.
Nihilego gives you a secondary threat on the bench that forces the opponent to track two dangerous Pokemon. Sabrina pulls the opponent's most vulnerable benched Pokemon into the active slot so Crobat ex can finish it for a point before they can respond.
Pokémon Center Lady or Lucky Ice Pop removes damage, directly neutralizing the poison stacking that Crobat ex relies on. Healing even once per game forces the Crobat ex player to spend extra turns re-applying the poison clock, buying you time to complete your own win condition.
Raikou ex and Zoroark ex post 65-66% win rates against Crobat ex. Electric attackers exploit any type weakness, while Zoroark ex's speed can outscore the slower poison strategy before it accumulates enough damage to close games.
Crobat ex is a Stage 2 that needs Zubat to survive. Use Sabrina or Cyrus to force Zubat active before the player draws Rare Candy. Knocking out Zubat early denies the entire attacker line and forces a restart that may never recover within a short game.
