Palkia ex wins by charging Dimensional Storm to hit the Active for 150 damage and spread 20 to every opponent's Benched Pokemon simultaneously. The deck pairs Palkia ex with Baxcalibur to provide a second Water-type attacker and fill the bench while you build toward the four-energy Dimensional Storm.
Open by getting Frigibax into play with Poke Ball and building toward Baxcalibur through draw. Mid-game you want to fire Dimensional Storm each turn, spreading chip damage to the entire opposing field. In the finishing turns the spread damage combines with the 150 Active hit to knock out multiple Pokemon in rapid succession, closing the game before the opponent can stabilize.

Reach the four-energy threshold for Dimensional Storm through the Energy Zone and draw support. Starting Plains can smooth the setup by ensuring you open with the right basics.
Each Dimensional Storm deals 20 to every opponent's Benched Pokemon. Target the Active to knock it out for 2 points while the bench chip damage accumulates. By the time you knock out the second attacker, weakened support Pokemon on the bench may already be in knockout range, winning in quick succession.
Palkia ex cannot reach Dimensional Storm quickly if setup is disrupted. Sabrina can drag Frigibax into the Active Spot to score a knockout before Rare Candy arrives, forcing the Palkia player to rely on slower manual energy attachments.
Dimensional Storm deals 20 to each Benched Pokemon. Running a lean bench of only one or two Pokemon limits the total spread damage per turn. Avoid benching low-HP Basics that become free knockouts after one or two spread hits.
Mega Manectric ex is listed as a hard counter to Palkia ex. Lightning-type attackers that threaten water weakness can often knock out Palkia ex before it fires enough Dimensional Storms to win, especially since the discard-three cost prevents back-to-back attacks without recharged energy.
