Discard 2 {P} Energy from this Pokémon.
Mewtwo ex wins by charging up and firing Psydrive for 150 damage, one-shotting nearly every target in the format. The deck uses Gardevoir's energy acceleration (if present) and Mew ex as backup to maintain offensive pressure.
Open by getting Mewtwo ex into the active spot and building toward four energy. Poké Ball can find Mewtwo ex as a Basic, while Gardevoir's evolution line requires draw from Professor's Research and Copycat. Once four energy are attached, Psydrive hits 150 and KOs virtually anything — but each use discards two psychic energy, so the engine must keep refueling. Mew ex acts as a second threat. Blue and X Speed manage tempo, while Budding Expeditioner supports setup. Mythical Slab can retrieve Mewtwo ex or Mew ex from the deck.
Psydrive
base 150, cost: discard 2 Psychic energy
One-shots every non-ex and most ex Pokemon; energy refueling is the key constraint
Psychic Sphere
base 50 at [Psychic,Colorless]
Early-game attack before full energy load; useful for chip damage
Mewtwo ex needs four energy to fire Psydrive. Attach every turn and use X Speed to manage retreat costs so energy stays on Mewtwo ex. Once you reach four energy, Psydrive clears the field one KO at a time. Immediately re-attach the following turns to reload for the next shot.
If Mewtwo ex is knocked out or not yet powered, Mew ex provides a second ex attacker. Running two ex threats forces your opponent to split their attention. Poké Ball cannot fetch Mew ex (it is ex and may or may not be Basic — treat as standard draw-dependent access), so Professor's Research and Copycat are critical.
Psydrive requires [Psychic,Psychic,Colorless,Colorless]. If you can deal 150 damage to Mewtwo ex before it is fully powered, you score 2 points and force the opponent to pivot to Mew ex. Aggressive ex attackers that swing for 100-plus damage per turn can race ahead of Mewtwo ex's charging window.
Mewtwo ex is weak to darkness type. Darkness-type attackers deal double damage, allowing them to KO Mewtwo ex well below its 150 HP threshold. This denies the opponent their primary attacker for 2 points and puts them into a poor recovery position with only Mew ex remaining.
The deck runs only two ex attackers. If you can score 2 points on Mewtwo ex and then 2 points on Mew ex before the opponent scores 3, you win the points race. Decks that can deal two consecutive 2-point KOs — even without type advantage — end the game before Psydrive fires twice.
