Strategy Guide
Auto-generatedJolteon ex wins by combining Electromagnetic Wall to automatically damage energy-attaching Pokemon with Mach Bolt for 80 damage, creating a dual-threat that drains HP from the bench and active simultaneously. The deck punishes energy-hungry setups and forces opponents to choose between developing their board or taking 20 damage per attachment.
Search Eevee with Poké Ball and evolve it into Jolteon ex with natural draw from Professor's Research and Copycat. Once Jolteon ex is active, Electromagnetic Wall activates automatically — every energy attachment from the opponent's energy zone deals 20 damage to the target Pokemon. Mid-game, use Cyrus and Eevee Bag to refine your hand and maintain the Jolteon ex line pressure. The secondary Jolteon acts as a non-ex backup attacker to avoid giving 2 points on KO. Close by targeting Pokemon that have accumulated Electromagnetic Wall damage with Mach Bolt to secure KOs ahead of schedule.
Damage Math
Any Pokemon that attached energy from the energy zone this turn
20 per attachment (Electromagnetic Wall) + 80 Mach Bolt = variable
Opponents with multi-energy setup turns take 20 damage per attachment before the attack even occurs
How to Play
Activate Electromagnetic Wall as Early as Possible
Every turn Jolteon ex spends active while the opponent attaches energy from their zone, passive 20 damage accumulates on their Pokemon. Get Jolteon ex active by turn 2 and keep it there. Cyrus provides hand disruption to pair with the passive damage effect. Training Area assists energy attachment to reach Mach Bolt's 2-energy requirement fast.
Finish Wall-Damaged Targets with Mach Bolt
Opponents developing energy-hungry setups take 20 damage per attachment turn. After two or three attachment turns, a previously healthy Pokemon may be near KO range. Time Mach Bolt to finish targets weakened by Electromagnetic Wall, securing KOs one turn earlier than expected and maintaining scoring tempo throughout the game.
How to Beat This Deck
Attach Energy Before Jolteon ex Reaches Active
Electromagnetic Wall only damages Pokemon when the opponent attaches from their energy zone while Jolteon ex is in the active spot. Front-loading energy attachments in the first turn or two — before Jolteon ex evolves — builds your attacker without taking any wall damage. Saving energy for single-attachment turns also limits total passive damage.
Use Non-Lightning-Weak Pokemon to Absorb Pressure
Mach Bolt deals 80 damage, which two-hits most targets. Pokemon with high HP or type resistance can absorb the pressure without being KO'd quickly. Keeping Jolteon ex from securing back-to-back KOs prevents it from running the point total to 3, giving you time to trade favorably with your own attackers.
Play Energy-Efficient Attackers That Limit Wall Exposure
Decks that win with 1-energy attacks or that attach to the active Pokemon (avoiding the bench-loading pattern) minimize Electromagnetic Wall damage taken. Stall and single-energy win conditions — like Porygon and Slaking — are exemplified in the 34% unfavorable matchups from the Jolteon ex player's perspective.
