Strategy Guide

Auto-generated

Gardevoir uses its Psy Shadow ability to freely attach psychic energy each turn, fueling a team of Future-series ex attackers. The win condition is to leverage free energy acceleration across Iron Valiant, Iron Boulder, Iron Crown, and Iron Leaves while Gardevoir itself stays protected on the bench.

Open by benching Ralts with Poké Ball and digging for Kirlia through Professor's Research or Copycat. Rare Candy lets you skip Kirlia in a pinch to reach Gardevoir faster. Once Gardevoir is on the bench, Psy Shadow attaches one psychic energy from the Energy Zone to the Active psychic Pokemon each turn, letting Future-series attackers come online without spending normal energy attachments. Mid-game you cycle attackers using Cyrus and Sabrina to control which of your opponent's threats takes damage. Peculiar Plaza, Area Zero, and Starting Plains fine-tune your board position and draw access to keep up momentum through the final turns.

Strengths

  • Psy Shadow gives a free extra energy attachment per turn to your Active psychic Pokemon, accelerating whichever Future attacker is currently in the Active Spot.
  • Four distinct ex attackers let you adapt to whatever threat the opponent presents, making the deck hard to single-counter.
  • Rare Candy and a thin 1-1-1 Gardevoir line reduce bench clutter, leaving slots for the full Future attacker suite.

Weaknesses

  • Each Future attacker is an ex; losing any of them gives the opponent 2 points, putting them close to the 3-point threshold instantly.ex KO
  • A 1-of Gardevoir line means one well-timed KO on Gardevoir shuts down free energy acceleration for the rest of the game.Consistency
  • Ghost decks like Dusknoir and Houndstone can disrupt your bench setup before the Future attackers are powered up.Matchup

How to Play

Establish Gardevoir Early via Rare Candy

Poké Ball finds Ralts, then Rare Candy lets you jump straight from Ralts to Gardevoir, bypassing Kirlia. With Gardevoir on the bench by turn 3 or 4, Psy Shadow starts supplementing your effective energy attachments. Every turn Gardevoir is active compounds the energy advantage over opponents with normal single-attach rates.

Rotate Future Attackers to Match the Threat

Iron Valiant, Iron Boulder, Iron Crown, and Iron Leaves each cover different matchups. Use Sabrina to pull up a specific benched opponent threat and then switch to the Future attacker best positioned to score the KO. Cyrus and Mars disrupt opponent hand size while you set up the right attacker. Future Booster Energy Capsule further extends attacker efficiency.

How to Beat This Deck

KO Gardevoir to Cut Energy Acceleration

Gardevoir sits at only 110 or 130 HP and is likely benched. Any effect that forces Gardevoir active or directly damages the bench can remove it and permanently end Psy Shadow acceleration. Without it, the Future attackers must rely on a single energy attachment per turn, slowing their setup by two or more turns.

CountersDusknoir

Target ex Attackers for 2-Point Swings

Every Future attacker in the deck is an ex. Landing a KO on Iron Valiant or Iron Boulder immediately scores 2 points. With only 3 points needed to win, a single clean KO plus one follow-up point ends the game. Prioritize targeting the most-charged attacker before it can swing.

CountersHoundstone

Exploit Psychic-Type Weaknesses

Dark-type Pokemon take reduced damage from Psychic attacks, and Ghost types may carry resistances or disruptive abilities that stall the Future attacker rotation. Decks built around Houndstone or Dusknoir use Ghost-type tools to out-tempo Gardevoir's acceleration before it reaches critical mass.
