Exeggutor ex is a grass-type Stage 1 ex attacker that flips for a potential 80 damage off a single energy with Tropical Swing. The win condition is capitalizing on favorable flips to score 2-point KOs cheaply while using Darkrai and Igglybuff as disruption and chip-damage tools.
Open by benching Exeggcute and use Poké Ball to secure it early, then draw into Exeggutor ex through Professor's Research or Copycat. Leaf and Cyrus provide hand control to slow down opponent setup. Tropical Swing only needs one grass energy, so Exeggutor ex can attack surprisingly early. Darkrai and Igglybuff fill the bench as cheap utility pieces — Darkrai applies passive pressure and Igglybuff disrupts opponent tempo. Lisia and Pokémon Center Lady provide recovery options for when the coin flip lands tails and Exeggutor ex fails to score a KO on the expected turn.

Exeggutor ex only needs one grass energy to use Tropical Swing. Attach energy on turn 1 to an Exeggcute or direct to the Active Spot, then evolve and swing on turn 2 for 40-80 damage before most opponents have their attackers ready. This early tempo is the deck's primary edge.
When Tropical Swing lands tails, you need to recoup tempo through trainer play. Leaf and Cyrus disrupt opponent hand and board, buying an extra turn before you must score a KO. Lisia provides additional support to stabilize the board while Pokémon Center Lady heals chip damage accumulated during unfavorable flip sequences.
Exeggutor ex pairs with Pokémon Center Lady to erase accumulated damage. Use attackers that deal large single-hit damage to one-shot Exeggutor ex before healing becomes relevant. Focusing all damage on Exeggutor ex in one turn denies the healing window entirely and scores the 2-point KO.
Grass-type Pokemon are weak to fire. A fire attacker with 95 or more base damage deals at least 190 after the weakness doubling, enough to one-shot Exeggutor ex even with Giant Cape attached. Skeledirge and other high-damage fire attackers can trade extremely favorably at modest energy cost.
Tropical Swing averages 60 damage per use. Attackers that deal 80-100 consistently without a flip condition will out-damage Exeggutor ex over the course of three or four turns. Stable, non-flip attackers deny the deck's variance upside and punish every tails result with guaranteed damage in return.
