Castform Sunny Form attacks for 30 damage and auto-applies Burn to the opponent's active whenever a Stadium is in play, stacking chip damage every turn with just a single fire energy. The deck wins by keeping a Stadium active at all times and using the burn-and-chip formula to knock out targets over 2-3 turns.
Open by playing Starting Plains or Bounded Field immediately — Castform Sunny Form's Burn condition requires a Stadium in play, so keeping one live is the highest priority every turn. Attack with Sunny Scorching every turn for 30 base damage plus 10 burn damage between turns. Rocky Helmet and Poison Barb punish the opponent for attacking back. Lucky Ice Pop, Giant Cape, and Repel protect Castform Sunny Form from being knocked out before it can generate enough burn damage. The supporting Pokemon — Chi-Yu, Heatran, Turtonator, and Torkoal — provide fallback attackers and board depth on different fire-energy cards.
70 HP Basic
Sunny Scorching 30 dmg + burn chip 10 per between-turns = 40+ per turn cycle
A 70 HP Basic can fall in two full turn cycles if burn is maintained throughout
Never end a turn without an active Stadium. Play Starting Plains and Bounded Field to guarantee one is always available. If the opponent removes your Stadium, immediately replace it. Without a Stadium, Sunny Scorching is a 30-damage attack with no bonus effect, and the entire strategy collapses.
Attach Rocky Helmet and Poison Barb alongside the burn status to create three simultaneous damage sources: Sunny Scorching, burn chip, and contact damage. The opponent takes damage whether they attack or skip their turn. Lucky Ice Pop and Giant Cape keep Castform Sunny Form alive to sustain this engine across multiple turns.
Castform Sunny Form only applies burn when a Stadium is in play. Playing a replacement Stadium or using Field Blower to remove the Stadium shuts off the burn condition for a full turn cycle. A turn without burn removes 10 chip damage and forces the deck to rely solely on 30-damage Sunny Scorching.
Castform Sunny Form has 70 HP and fire type — water-type attackers with type advantage need very little damage to reach that threshold in a single hit. Removing it before it accumulates multiple turns of burn-plus-chip damage shuts down the passive damage engine entirely and scores a free one-point knockout.
Burn is cleared when a Pokemon retreats or is switched out. Decks with free-retreat basics or switching trainers can replace a burned active each turn, resetting the status and forcing Castform Sunny Form to re-apply it. This negates most of the between-turns chip damage that makes the strategy efficient.
